SkyCourt, the new terminal of the Franz Liszt Airport opened on Friday. The new area of the Budapest Ferihegy International Airport, renamed Budapest Franz Liszt International Airport on Wednesday, is located between buildings A and B of Terminal 2, and features restaurants, duty free shopping, cafés and the new Malév business lounge. Among the exclusive shops, Herend Porcelain Manufactory's twelfth official retail outlet called “Eden” will open.
Besides the Herend shops located in major cities worldwide, we consider our network of shops in Hungary equally important.
A unified corporate image, services and the excellence that is synonymous with the Herend brand were, up to now, found in 11 locations across the country.
The Herend shops traditionally bear the name of famous Herend decorations. We have maintained this tradition with the opening of our newest retail unit in SkyCourt terminal. From among the over 4,000 patterns, this new “gem”, our twelfth retail outlet, which was opened yesterday, was named after one of the most popular patterns of past years, the “Eden” motif, and bears special significance for the Manufactory. The “Eden” pattern's charming, ethereal butterfly symbolises the eternal yearning for flight — echoing the terminal's architecture —, and its name also refers to the wide selection available, in a setting that resembles paradise.
The “Eden” shop features the traditional shapes and patterns of the Manufactory, as well as the hit products of recent years, the Herend novelties presented at the Frankfurt International Fair and pieces from the Herend jewellery collection, popular among younger generations, with an initial stock worth over HUF 30 million. The open days over this weekend will see the shop's doors open to visitors, what is more, actress Dóra Szinetár will be in the store on Saturday from 4 pm to 6 pm, and on March 20, Sunday, the store will host Zoltán Bereczki from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Jost Lammers, CEO of Budapest Airport (the company operating the airport) welcomed guests, followed by a ceremonial address given by the State Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Pál Völner. At the inauguration ceremony, several Liszt pieces conducted by Zoltán Kocsis and presented by the National Philharmonic Orchestra provided musical entertainment, followed by Bartók, Dvorak and Johann Strauss compositions. Travelling ambassador of Hungarian Culture Erika Miklósa the gave a performance. The terminal will open to travellers on 27 March.
Looking forward to meeting you under the clouds in Eden!
