While it is certainly an option to spend a few nights in the "porcelain city", thanks to the proximity of the county seat of Veszprém and Lake Balaton, there are excellent recreational facilities and top-class hotels to exploit. Of course, there are plenty of choices for accommodation in the capital city as well.

Events in Herend, such as “The Night of Museums” can justify staying in or around the town in itself, but the romantic atmosphere of the Bakony Mountains, the fresh air, the villages with a history of folk art or the proximity of medicinal waters all entice tourists for an extended stay and recreation crowned by a visit to Herend, the world of porcelain.
