More than 290 million forints were collected on December 17 at the charity auction of the Hungarian public media (MTVA).
The auction was organized for the sixth time, this time in favour of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service. Herend Porcelain Manufactory has supported the charity auction since its establishment in 2012. In 2016, one of the auction items was a special Herend Porcelain lamp vase painted with Victoria pattern and decorated with the autographs of Anita Herczegh, spouse of the President of Hungary, Éva Marton, opera singer, and Áron Szilágyi, Olympic champion swordsman. It is particular as filtered light fills the room through the nearly 900 almond-like holes of the openwork lamp vase. Its elegance is enhanced by brushstrokes with 24-carat gold.
