Special situations require special solutions, but there are things that are constant. When it is about the biggest round the lake sailing regatta in Europe, then Herend Trophies are given to the winners.
Four weeks before the 52nd Blue Ribbon, at the originally scheduled time of the competition, the organizers held an unusual online press conference where this year’s Trophies were also presented. The venue was also special, as the press conference took place on the deck of last year’s winning sailboat.
Despite the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers hope to have more participants than ever before at the traditional regatta at Lake Balaton, and with caution, those interested should not give up on shore programs.
As has been a tradition for many years, the best will receive beautiful prizes provided by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd. “Our company is a community creating, preserving and passing on values. From sixteen thousand forms and four thousand patterns, we select the three prizes that Blue Ribbon winners will receive. Our presence also shows that we make friendships and collaborations not for a short but for a long time. We have been a committed partner of the Blue Ribbon for a long time. With our presence this year, we also want to express the need to connect national values even in the midst of the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We will keep our fingers crossed for all teams and will be proud when, at the very end of the prize ceremony, Herend porcelain prizes will be lifted by the sailors.” – Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., said at the press conference.
