Herend porcelain works of art at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace. The luxury hotel and cocktail bar at the Gresham Palace in Budapest has entered into a special collaboration with Herend, one of the world’s most prestigious porcelain manufactories.
At the Four Seasons Hotel, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., and Yves Giacometti, hotel manager, jointly presented the new Herend collection of Muse Bar, Hungary’s first handcrafted Art Nouveau cocktail bar.
Revived golden age
We don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy the luxury that Gresham Palace has to offer at any time, the interior, the food, the drinks, and the service from Herend porcelain all evoke the golden age of the city.
The food specialties are served on hand-painted porcelain tableware from the world-famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory called “Gresham Ambience” (GRAM). And why is this set so special? Because it was designed exclusively for the Four Seasons Gresham Palace, and the pattern displays both 19th century tradition and 21st century innovation. The roots of the 19th century are given by the scaly pattern, while the 21st century innovation is represented by one of the motif elements of the Royal Garden pattern, which is the renewal of the Victoria pattern. The service decor for the hotel features the stylized main entrance to the Gresham building, and also depicts a scaly pattern inspired by the mosaics of Gresham Palace. Approaching each other, these patterns are reminiscent of the lobby, and the frame evokes the golden-turquoise world of Muse Bar.
The name of the nearly two-hundred-year-old Herend Porcelain Manufactory is synonymous with excellence and uniqueness – this is absolutely true this time, as the pattern of Muse Bar’s porcelains is a unique motif dreamed up by the hotel’s interior designers together with Herend artists, exclusively for Muse.
“When we dreamed up Muse, we were inspired by the Hungary’s rich cultural heritage, and our primary goal was to showcase the work of talented artists living here. From the very beginning, it was obvious that the dishes would be served on Herend porcelain since the quality and elaboration of the products, and the excellent work and skill of the team were unsurpassed. In our eyes, they represent the best of Hungary.” Yves Giacometti, hotel manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace, said.
”There are moments that are born in the present but build the future. When we decided years ago that the Four Seasons Gresham Hotel and Herend porcelain would have a rendezvous, we knew that our collaboration would bring value. World-famous porcelain and a world-famous hotel will have a rendezvous in the heart of Budapest, which we confirmed today with our signature. We designed unique, hand-made Herend porcelain to a unique location, Gresham. The traditions of the Gresham pattern date back to 19th century Far Eastern motifs and the 21st century innovation is provided by the details of the Herend Royal Garden pattern handed over as a wedding gift to Prince William and Princess Kate. Both tradition and innovation are displayed on Herend porcelain made for Gresham tables. Our goal is that guests coming to relax find harmony, elegance, and pampering. Each Herend product includes the secret recipes of porcelain making, the success of world exhibitions over centuries, the continuous innovation built on traditions, the love of natural beauty, creativity, quality, and creative work, the commitment to craftsmanship, and the luxury, elegance, and pampering carried by the Herend Brand. This moment is a celebration for us. We celebrate the meeting of values, the meeting of two well-known and recognized brands, Four Seasons and Herend porcelain, and a new dimension of hospitality and service.” – Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, said.
