On the recommendation of the European luxury industry organization Comité Colbert, French Minister of Culture, Monsieur Franck Riester, honoured Ákos Tamás, designer and artist of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, with the “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” (Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres) in recent past.

This Order has previously been awarded to world-famous artists like Tina Turner, George Clooney, Uma Thurman, André Rieu, Kylie Minogue, Jude Law, Shakira and Philip Glass.

The diploma of the Order of Arts and Letters was handed over to Ákos Tamás by Madame Pascale Andréani, Ambassador of France to Hungary, on October 3, 2019 at the French Embassy in Budapest. Ákos Tamás thanked for the high artistic award on behalf of the entire community of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. The Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., the world’s largest manufactory of handmade luxury porcelain, is the only company in Hungary to become a member of Comité Colbert in 2011.
