Herend's first mono-brand boutique in the Arab world has opened in Abu Dhabi’s most exclusive shopping centre: Avenue at Etihad Towers. It will offer a selection of handmade and hand-painted porcelain services, home accessories and masterpieces.
A Debut Boutique in the Arab World
The Al Mazroui Group has reached out to partner with Herend Porcelain Manufactory, creating Herend United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Abu Dhabi-based company is thus able to cater to the demand for premium porcelain tableware and home décor products in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region. Looking for the perfect spot, Herend UAE considered several exclusive locations in the Emirati capital, eventually picking the most suitable: Avenue at Etihad Towers.
Avenue at Etihad Towers is a luxury retail destination for fashion and jewellery connoisseurs, where a hand-picked array of the most luxurious maisons showcase their latest collections. With a refined architecture and interior design, the shopping centre is set in the capital’s iconic and prestigious Etihad Towers development, home to high-end residences and commercial spaces, as well as the plush five-star Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers hotel. As Avenue’s guests, Herend lovers will enjoy personalised client services for the most exclusive shopping experience in Abu Dhabi.
It is the ideal location to attract high-profile clients, such as royals, members of the country’s most influential families as well as wealthy tourists from neighbouring countries. The opening of the Abu Dhabi boutique is thus a stepping-stone to strongly introduce the Herend brand to the highest echelons of the population of the UAE and the Gulf region.
A Replica of the Flagship Boutique with a Local Touch
To stay loyal to the Herend identity, the design of the Abu Dhabi boutique has been based on the Porcelain Palace in Budapest. The interior of the store has been developed with simplicity and European elegance in mind. Marble floors, black wooden cabinets and open shelves in white oak, most elements of the flagship boutique can be found in this new store: a little piece of Hungary in the Emirates. Of course, Herend UAE has brought its own touch. For instance, the classic black façade has been embellished with golden fish scales, an iconic Herend pattern.
The selection of items found in store has also been adapted to the Middle Eastern market. Next to European coffee and tea sets, dinnerware and vases, local customers will be happy to find the traditional Arabic finjan. The Herend artists have used their expertise in creating unique pieces of porcelain to rework this traditional cup, emblematic of the Arab world. Of course, all the classic Herend décors are displayed in the shop: Victoria, Rothschild, Batthyány and Apponyi in a multitude of colours.
Offering a large variety of shapes and patterns, Herend’s brand-new Abu Dhabi boutique will be the ideal place to find the luxury porcelain pieces which will give any Middle Eastern home a royal touch.
