Meeting of Hungaricums

The exhibition of Halas Lace was ceremonially opened at the Herend Porcelain Museum.

Two Hungaricums, two Hungarian craft brands known all over the world, two legendary works of art rendezvoused in Herend: Halas Lace and Herend Porcelain.

Both porcelain and lace are the result of expert, precise hands and persistent, careful work. Both are characterized by uniqueness and high quality. Their value is given, among other things, by the respect for tradition and predecessors and by the pursuit of continuous renewal and innovation, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., said at the opening ceremony.

The Halas Lace Public Foundation organized the Lace Exhibition for the twentieth time in June this year, where guests could view a special, thematic exhibition of Herend porcelain pieces entitled “Translucent Delicacy”. In return, Halas Lace has now arrived at Herend, Kálmán Pajor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Halas Lace Public Foundation, said. In four rooms of the Herend Porcelain Museum, visitors can get a taste of Halas Lace products, an overview from the beginning to the present day. At the opening ceremony, lace sewers presented and explained the ins and outs of the craft with great success. Visitors to the exhibition were guided by Éva Rédei Szécsi, director of the Lace House. The event also featured a fashion show, presenting fashion designer Tünde Hrivnák’s latest dress collection, By Me Miracle, decorated with Halas Lace, and harp player Klára Bábel’s performance.
