Herend Porcelain Manufactory has been a long-time cooperating partner of the Balatonfüred Anna Ball, Hungary’s most famous and traditional ball.
This year, nearly 500 guests arrived and had dinner from a 3,300-piece Herend porcelain tableware, decorated with Apponyi pattern dating back to the 1930s, with a total value of about 90 million forints. The ladies’ necks were adorned with Herend porcelain hearts painted with Hungarian national colours symbolizing strength, fidelity, and hope.
The 18-year-old Eszter Horváth from Balatonfüred was chosen as the Belle of the 196th Anna Ball. The 1st runner-up became the 19-year-old Dorottya Nánási from Diósd, and the 2nd runner-up the 21-year-old Zita Hadfi from Szeged.
The belle of the ball and the runners-up received Herend porcelain vases decorated with the patterns Victoria, Rothschild, and Apponyi, renewed in the spirit of tradition and innovation. The Herend trophies for the beauties of the ball were handed over by Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, who was also one of the patrons of the ball.
