As part of the 20th International Lace Exhibition and Meeting, a Herend porcelain exhibition was opened by Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., at the Kiskunhalas Lace House.
In his welcoming speech, the CEO presented the world’s largest porcelain manufactory, the milestones of the way to the top, the quality requirements of Herend, the huge product range, and the innovative thinking that defines all the Company’s processes.
He emphasized that continuous renewal is a basic requirement in Herend’s product development philosophy. The Manufactory’s goal is to do style-creating work that satisfies customer needs and keeps Herend at the centre of domestic and international interest, thus maintaining the interest of future generations in Herend’s works of art.
The exhibition features nearly 300 works of art from Herend, with a total value of more than HUF 36 million. Among the pieces on display are a large number of masterpieces made with openwork technique, showing a parallel to the airy beauty of Halas Lace. At the event, guests were also welcomed by Sándor Farkas, Secretary of State, Róbert Fülöp, Mayor of Kiskunhalas, and Kálmán Pajor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Halas Lace Public Foundation.
