Herend Porcelain

Tuned for Autumn in the Hungarian wine capital

A new exhibition of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd. titled “Tuned for Autumn” was opened at the Exhibition Room of the County Hall, Szekszárd.

This time, the autumn related forms and patterns were highlighted from the incomparable product range of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory at the new temporary exhibition opened in Szekszárd. Visitors can admire how much beauty the autumn has. A cavalcade of autumn fruit flavours, dance of fruits, juicy grapes, must and the royal delights of new wine. The incomparable aroma of roasted chestnuts, million-coloured leaves, petals of cold-defying flowers, chilly dawn hunts, delicious mushrooms, and the unparalleled magic of the first snow. All this is presented by Herend at the exhibition open until December 16.

At the opening ceremony, Polixéna Szánthó Csillag, chairwoman of the municipal human resources committee, welcomed the guests, and said she was delighted to see a large number of visitors. She also mentioned that she had first visited Herend as a child with her teachers, and later she visited the manufactory with all her school classes as a teacher.

Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., talked about European porcelain, which was discovered nearly three hundred years ago, actually independently of the Chinese. He said that the products made by Herend are not only household objects but also works of art. He also said that the answer to the question of Herend’s secret is made up by lots of factors including world exhibition successes, when Herend Porcelain won the favour of Queen Victoria, the secret recipe and the style-creating product development. Herend has millions of products and practically every day a new Herend porcelain item is born.

We invite you to visit this special, autumn related Herend selection in this beautiful “wine capital” Szekszárd! Come and join us at this multi-coloured, grape-ripening, luscious, spice-scented exhibition!
