Jewellery and cups have the first place among the most intimate Herend Porcelain items touching human body. Porcelain as material is a perfect choice for both functions as it is highly solid, noble, precious, hygienic, and has got anti-allergic properties as well. Therefore, the designers of Herend Porcelain Manufactory create ergonomic dishes, coffee and tea sets from “white gold” with utmost care. The anatomical aspects can be manifested most characteristically in the form of “Fortuna” cups, the rim of which harmoniously fits the form of human mouth, so that function and form are cleverly combined in the tea and coffee cups of Ákos Tamás. His colleague, Erika Éles-Varga, develops in pattern-designing those novelties, which are offered to further young generations by the world-famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory celebrating this year its 190th anniversary. Interesting “shells” made by applied artist Ágnes Hegedűs Sas make the Herend artworks special.
