Herend Porcelain for Jane Goodall

The world-famous anthropologist and environmentalist Jane Goodall received the figurine “Three Wise Monkeys” made by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory.

The gift was handed over on a charity lunch benefitting the Jane Goodall Institute Budapest. Symbolic meaning of the figurine in Oriental cultures is “rejection of all evil” while in the Western world it is more typical of people “wanting to escape problems shutting their eyes, ears and mouth”. Both meanings are highly topical and fit well with Jane Goodall’s thinking and her message to the world, thus she gladly accepted the gift from the Herend Porcelain Manufactory.
