In honour of Móric Esterházy, a memorial plaque was inaugurated on the facade of the Benedictine High School in Győr. From 1934, Móric Esterházy was the chairman of the board of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory for more than a decade, and previously the prime minister of Hungary.
György Esterházy, the grandson of the former prime minister, was also present at the ceremony from Budapest, holding a personal speech.
After the greetings of Kelemen Sárai-Szabó OSB, Prior of Győr, and Konstantin Tóth OSB, Director of the Benedictine High School, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herendi Porcelain Manufactory Ltd. and university librarian Zalán Biczó, the initiator of the Esterházy memorial plaque, gave a celebratory speech. Dr. Attila Simon emphasized that as humbly and reverently we approach our past, the future will judge us, the present, with the same respect. Based on this, the Manufactory fulfils its honourable task with placing a memorial plaque on the facade of the Benedictine High School in Győr.
The Herend Porcelain Manufactory is proud of the great figures of its past, so it was happy to design the memorial plaque, thus continuing the long-standing mission to contribute to the built heritage and beauty of the cities.
