2026. April 28.
The renovated renaissance Esterházy Castle in Galanta, Slovakia, opened its doors amid a festive atmosphere, with the meeting of historical splendour and the elegance of the world-famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory.
The opening ceremony focused on Herend porcelain: the finely crafted works of art found a worthy setting in the imposing halls. The exhibition not only provides an aesthetic experience but also provides insight into the centuries-old history of Herend porcelain and the Esterházy family.
Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Manufactory, gave a speech at the opening, emphasizing the special role and international significance of Herend porcelain: “Two hundred kilometres from Galanta, there is a Manufactory that has now become the largest porcelain manufactory in the world. There is no inhabited continent where we are not present, and there is no country where Herend porcelain cannot be found.” He added that anyone who meets this “ever-young, beautiful Lady” who is over two hundred years old will remember her forever, thus referring to the timeless value and cultural mission of Herend porcelain.
As a highlight of the evening, the building shone with the splendour of decorative lighting, impressively showcasing the meeting of Herend porcelain and the Esterházy heritage.
