Charity offering for auction “It’s Good to Be Good” reaches its goal

The beneficiary of the auction at the end of last year was the Hungarian Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted. The Herend Porcelain Manufactory offered a plastic flower composition that emerges from the plane into the spatial dimension, thus depicting a vase. The vase form became the centre of attention again in 2007, when a new piece was created based on a museum work of art. The newly made Herend ornaments, limited to 25 pieces, were sold in no time. The Herend vase put up for auction is a unique one in a special, exclusive colour variant. The creation of the porcelain piece, almost half a meter high and weighing more than four and a half kilos, proclaims the art of hand-making, from the design to the last brush stroke. It sold for two million one hundred thousand forints.
