Apponyi pattern

The birth of the pattern is associated with Count Albert Apponyi, the famous Hungarian aristocrat and politician, who first ordered the simplified version of Fleurs des Indes (Indian flower basket) pattern in the 1930s. The moderate Apponyi pattern started living a life on its own, and became one of the most popular decorative elements of the motif collection of the Manufactory. Nowadays, the Apponyi pattern is painted in several colours or with a combination of colours. In the turquoise-platinum variant, gold is replaced by platinum giving the porcelain pieces a special metallic shine.
