Circus history exhibition in Herend
At the unique exhibition, visitors can see a selection of the masterpieces of Herend porcelain art and the great successes of Hungarian circus art.
At the exhibition, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., and Péter Fekete, Director General of the National Centre for Circus Arts, gave a welcome speech.
In his speech, CEO Dr. Attila Simon emphasized that the two institutions are connected by many ideas: he cited social responsibility, value creation, preserving and passing on traditions, unwavering commitment to quality, and innovation. "We are also connected by a hint of a secret, as every artiste has some secret in their production, just as the secret recipe of raw materials and porcelain paints appears in the Herend works of art."
In his welcome speech, Director General Péter Fekete highlighted: seriousness and timelessness are values that apply to both the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd. and the Capital Circus of Budapest, and he thanked the Herend creative community for providing a special space and atmosphere for the creation of the exhibition.
Emese Joó, museum manager of the Hungarian Circus Arts Museum, Library and Archives, curator of the exhibition, said that they were inspired by the porcelain objects. On 100 square meters, an exhibition with great content and many miracles from floor to ceiling was created.
The exhibition was opened by László Simet, Hortobágyi Károly Prize-winning artiste. As a special feature, artiste and clown Dániel Richter and artiste and juggler Ádám Rudolf jr. performed at the event with great success.
The exhibition features wonderful Herend porcelain items and original circus costumes, props, photographs, posters and film footage, as well as unique porcelain creations from the circus world linked to each other.
